Wanderer

I enjoy going to music events, mostly festivals, metal concerts and symphonic concerts. I have seen over 100 bands live.

My other passions are travelling and binge-reading. Here are some books I read in the past couple of years that I highly recommend (stale):

  • Flash Boys: A Wall Street Revolt by Michael Lewis
  • Power, sex, suicide: Mitochondria and the meaning of life by Nick Lane
  • The undoing project: A friendship that changed our minds by Michael Lewis
  • The premonition: A pandemic story by Michael Lewis
  • The Ethical Algorithm: The Science of Socially Aware Algorithm Design by Michael Kearns and Aaron Roth
  • The Angel and the Assassin: The Tiny Brain Cell That Changed the Course of Medicine by Donna Jackson Nakazawa
  • Why we're polarized by Ezra Klein
  • Spillover: Animal Infections and the Next Human Pandemic by David Quammen
  • The Human Cosmos: Civilization and the Stars by Jo Marchant
  • Future crimes: Inside the Digital Underground and the Battle for Our Connected World by Marc Goodman
  • When breath becomes air by Paul Kalanithi
  • Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo
  • The fifth risk by Michael Lewis
  • The buried giant by Kazuo Ishiguro
  • The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz
  • The Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
  • Machines like me by Ian McEwan
  • The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy
  • Lost in Math: How Beauty Leads Physics Astray by Sabine Hossenfelder
  • Slapstick, or Lonesome No More! by Kurt Vonnegut
  • Signs Preceding the End of the World by Yuri Herrera

I have recently discovered I have been mentioned in the acknowledgement section of several PhD theses and this was moving. Kudos to (inverse chronologically) Erica, Tjerand, Tasos, Brent, Achin, Matei, Diego and Nick. (Thanks Google Scholar for indexing these too!)
